invisible children at Northern Uganda

Hardip showed us a 50min documentary in his PR class today. He was trying to let us know that everybody can be a PR practitioner in their daily life.

This documentary had been produced by 3 amateurs that has absolutely no idea what is movie-making. They just wanted to do a documentary on the childrens at Northern Uganda which almost the whole world didn't care about & doesn't give a damn about it. There was an on-going war for almost 20 years over there. The rebels abduct childrens in Northern Uganda and train them to be a killer/fighter to topple over the government. They were big enough to carry the gun & small enough to kill. How ironic. Those that didn't obey got killed. These childrens lived in fear, everynite they would travel to the hospital and sleep at the verandas. It is a sanctuary to them. All of them were afraid to sleep at home fearing that they will get abducted in the middle of the night.

Thanks to these 3 whacky guys, the whole world came together and alot of changes had been made to help the invisible children, just bcoz of 1 video =) . Yeay! Yesterday was my last day working at 1u's SonyEricsson Roadshow. This weekend will be at MidValley.

No Yeay! I got bacteria infection and i hafta left early to see doctor. My whole body got itchy and red patches and swell in just a few hours time -_- chinese call it "fong mok". Couldn't tahan anymore, so i went to the clinic and they gave me an injection and some medicines. Went straight to Maison after that hehe ;p.

Yesterday was okay, the music was nicer compared to Thursday Nite. DJ Flizzow & T-Bone were spinning =) I got tipsy last nite, drank a tad too much =p Reached home around 6.

Im glad to be a woman. We WOMAN have lotsa privileges, one of it is LADIES NIGHT. Muahahaha...im hyper, it's 5am and im not sleepy at all. In fact im thinking of early morning dimsum, but nobody layan me -_-.

Just came back from Pandan Indah Steven's Corner, was @ Maison before that. At first i thought it would be a so-so night only, but apparently me - Ms.Ashley have lots of friends that i usually won't thought of seeing them there are there. Let's see, I have Bryan, Nicole, Niki, ShihMun and some other online friends. HaHAha...it's not like u know who am i talking about -_-. Oh ya, i saw Jason too! He came back from Singapore =)

Anyway, it indeed was a fun night. We dance till drop !!

Genting Trip

Went to Genting with Mc and his friends on the 10th, few of his friends that work in SenHeng got a whole stack of free room coupon -_-. We went in the stupid haunted house. Apparently i closed my eyes and walked the whole 15min. Those stupid "ghosts" keep banging and touching people +_+. I remembered the first time i went in was 3 years ago, that time they dressed up like western ghosts. Now they dressed up like pontianak.

And, i got in Genting's Casino without being checked. HAHAHA! does that mean i look old -_-. Anyway, i seriously dun understand how the hell those old popo & gonggong can stand the cold and sleep in the arcade, damn 7 pitiful lo when i saw them. We stayed there still 5am and went back to the room and sleep. One of Mc's friend lost 1K++.

The 2nd day was whole day drizzling, we couldn't do anything but 2 leave. Will post up pics soon.

Wednesday was a bad day.

Helped Caryn to shoot at Sg.Wang from 11am - 3pm. Well that's fine, except some scoldings we get from some of the shop owner coz we were shooting in front of their shop.

KKL fetched me from Sg.Wang after that. I was supposed to get my new comp, i did get it in the end but it was already 5am in the morning next day. You ask me why?? This is why....after he fetched me from Sg.Wang, we went to RHB Bank, which i have to wait for more than half an hour. Then on the way to collect my comp, it started raining heavily. It's very hard to find parking at Wangsa Maju , not to mention it's raining heavily. Got a spot, KKL runs in to the shop while i waited in the car FOR FREAKING 45MIN!! Apparently they havent *stick* all the different little parts together -___-. So KKL took it to the cybercafe he used to work and said after he fetch his gf he will come back and fix it for me. So from 6.30pm i waited till 9pm!!

Waiting is not the main problem, it is when im waiting my period came!! Son of a bitch... I called AhKit to fetch me home. So after i finish bathing everything, once my fat ass get on the car, the car battery ran out. WTF ?!! Just to wait for AhKit's fren to bring the jump start cable is already 2 hours. ZZzZzzz...

First time interviewing experience

Yesterday was my last class for this sem. After class, me & Sharon went to Genting Klang - Freedom Studio to interview breakdancers from Elementz Crew. I got Elementz to help us is bcoz i knew few of them wuahahahaha. They were very down to earth, i even learned a breakdance move but i have no idea what isit call. It's the very very basic 1, which u put ur both elbow at ur knee side & hipside, and then u put ur head down sideway and leave both of ur leg hanging up there.

When i got there, even though it's not the 1st time i went to Freedom, but i still feel very excited. Seeing this bunch of young guys dancing reminds me of few years ago, reminds me how much i love dancing >"<. I still love now, but i have no time to learn. Their body is sooooooo nice, i prefer their body than those body builder. Theirs have muscles and nice shapes but not too over, body builders' is way too over -_____- damn scary.

It's been awhile since i blog. CNY is all about eating, gambling & drinking. Anyway, it's going to be a hectic month. I have final movie assignment and 2 exams. My 2nd sem is ending very soon, by end of next year i will graduate.
At first i was going to shoot a short movie, but my casts last min pull out, and with me left with not even 10 days, i have to shoot a documentary now. Im gonna do about Malaysia's independent bands - hopefully the event -BitterSweet Tour- at this coming Sat @ KLPac will goes smoothly. I can't afford to change my idea again, it's 50% final project.
Seriously im very panic right now. I have never been an interviewer b4, it's my first time. Worse of all is i have to interview local bands. It's not that they are international bands or what, but what if they act like they are? -_- How am i gonna handle it?? What if they don't layan me!! ZZzZz...Chien Shin Koh u have to help me!!

Genting

Went to Genting last Friday. Were supposed to have BBQ, but then it was freaking raining !! So we rented an apartment at Ria Apartment and BBQ inside instead. 1 of my fren brought a BONG for shisha!! That was really sumthing nice to do through out the whole nite =D .

Then we decided to go visit AMBER COURT at 3am. nyekz nyekz nyekz...The road to AMBER COURT is actually right b4 First World Hotel, take a left turn and go straight. We had actually passed by that turning twice but we just cant seem to find the left turning and we ended up in First World twice. We've even asked the direction from a taxi driver..creepy aight?? Im kinda worried so i asked them to stop looking and headed straight back to the apartment. Maybe it's those "thing" that dont allow us to find that place, so we might as well dont push our luck la..

We continue shisha till around 5 den went to sleep. Woke up at 8 sumthing and we insisted to look for AMBER COURT again. It was easy, we found it at the 1st attempt. The road to AMBER COURT is so narrow and hidden, i think many ppl don't even know the existence of it.

The exterior part looks like the chinese tomb. Seriously who build it?! No wonder so many stories about this place la!! We went in and the receptionist counter was not open yet!! I guess they really expected there wont be many customers. We went around, there is only 1 mini market opened, but nobody inside -_-. Others are all like abandoned, ceilings dropped off, carpet full of water stains, CREEPY!! Then we went up to see the apartments, it was clean and tidy, infact better than the place we stayed at RIA. But too bad la..im so glad that we didnt overnite at AMBER COURT.

By the time we finish exploring it's already 10sumthing. The receptionist counter just only start preparing, and they are all wearing cin cin cai cai punyer shirt. Don't look like worker also!! So we ciaoz and ate bakkutteh at Gohtong Jaya. Takes us not even 1 hour to reach Subang =)

I got this fuckin disgusting email today...it's about sushi. Maybe u'll change ur perception towards " the raw-er the better " after seeing this post. Please dun read this if ur going 4 a meal or after eating.

This is a true case of a Japanese man from Gifu Prefecture who incessantly about a persistent headache. Mr. Shota Fujiwara loveshis sashimi and sushi very much to the extent of trying to get them as "alive and fresh" as can be for hisinsatiable appetite.

He developed a severe headache, but for the past three years had put it off as migraine and stress from work.It was only when he started losing his phsyco-motor skills that he soughtmedical help.A brain scan and x-ray revealed little however. But upon closer inspection by aspecialist on his scalp, the Doctor noticed small movements beneath his skin. It was then that the Doctor did a local anaesthetic to his scalp anddiscovered the cause! Tiny tapeworms crawled out! Major surgery was thus immediately called for and the extent of the infestation was horrific!

Remember : tapeworms, roundworms and their eggs which abound in all fish,fresh or saltwater, can only be killed by thorough cooking and/or freezing the fish to between -4 deg C - 0 degsC

Shits happen

Shits happen..but never tot it would be this shitty. Malaysia's educational laws really sux! My group's movie assignment was having problem uploading our raw footage to any laptop or desktop, just simply bcoz we are using a HDV videocam, not the normal CCD videocam. The only solution we found out from a friend tat time is to find an APPLE and upload in it. What he told us was APPLE is the only device that are hi-tech enuff to read the HDV footage.

Time is gold. We are 48hours away from the deadline, of coz we try anything that would probably work, as long as we can pass up our assignment on time. So i called my fren to ask whether he know anyone using APPLE, it just so happened that his fren juz came back from Australia and is with him tat time. My fren's fren was kind enuff and agree to help us. It turns out that he's also a videostudent studying in RMIT. I see bright lights infront of me that moment. -_-

Anyway, he came the next day. But just right b4 half an hour he arrives, the videocam ran out of battery. One of my group's member had to drive all the way back from Damansara to The Mines to get his charger. Took him more than 1 and a half hour to come back with the charger and tat kind guy was waiting. Everything was fine then, i was so happy that finally i can start editting our movie after he uploads it in his APPLE. That's when my the other group member called and said :
" Ashley, XXX is coming over to help us to upload it. She said she will help us fix it."
FYI : XXX is the lecturer that gave us this assignment.

How to say no right +_+

So XXX came after 10 mins and said that bcoz the HDV videocam dun haf a built-in converter to convert the HDV file to DV file...yada yada...i dun understand what's the terms she used at all...All i know is she said we need the converter, and its in her house. Then the kind guy said that we actually dun need the converter thingy, he's using the same videocam too. XXX gave him a look and continue yada yada...WTF~!!
XXX is that kind of person that cannot accept other ppl being smarter or better , and now its a student correcting what XXX said, lagi-lah tak boleh~!

So we let the guy upload our footage in his APPLE and start editting in his APPLE. First he was supposed to leave after helping us uploading it. But in the end, he stayed over until the next morning, just to help us with the editting also. Where to find a person that is so kind nowadays?? I don;t even know him in the 1st place, he is just my fren's fren.

So anyway, the yada yada thing happened in the afternoon. In the night, when i was halfway editting our movie, XXX called one of the member and said she's coming over to help a girl with her movie. So she will come and help us too. All those shits happened in the night. I never know someone that always said how profesional they are acting so childishly, fuckin immature!

XXX talked to the leader in our group, ask the leader to halau that kind guy home and ask us to edit in normal pc instead of APPLE. This movie assignment did not stated that we must edit in ADOBE PROMIERE PRO.
FYI: To edit a movie, normal pcs use ADOBE PREMIERE PRO ; APPLE
use FINAL CUT PRO. In my college, we learn edittin using ADOBE.
Back to that shit, just bcoz we are not followin what she said and doing what my fren's fren said, i think XXX felt offended and tak puas hati, as i've already said that XXX is those ppl that can't accept other ppl better than them. To balance up thing, my group leader agree to let her convert out raw footage into a format that is readable by the normal pcs. My group leader knew that XXX was unhappy about us and the APPLE guy. She did not want XXX to think that we are being unappreciative. So XXX and others left with our raw footage, they brought it home to help us convert it.

In the mean time, the person that told us to look for an APPLE to upload our stuffs, starts his shitty talkin. He said that why we did not stand up for XXX when that APPLE guy said this :
" This is full of shits arent? "
Apparently, he thinks that the APPLE guy meant that XXX is full of shits, Just based on his point of view, he jumped into his own sohai conclusion and start blaming us. Like a dog..puik! This shitter even called XXX and report about the " This is full of shits arent? " and make such a big fuss about it, telling things that weren't true and adding oil...I have never seen a guy so fucking kepohchi b4..It's like a woman caught in a man!!
XXX kononnyer so profesional, but im so disappointed when i found out that XXX believed what kepohchi said and got pissed by it. I thought profesionals are full of confidence, they will just listen and pretend what remarks ppl said as rubbish or bullshit if it's not true?? But not act like an immature adult, like asking us to "cheng" that APPLE guy balik rumah. As long as we can finish and hand up the assignment on time dahlah, why wanna bother whose instructions we listen to? It's not like we are not giving respect to XXX, it just so happens that i found the APPLE guy to help us first. We just want to finish our assignment without bothering our lecturer.

It's not all these only, there's more shits but im lazy to blog about it already. Im so sien of all these dramas that happened around me. If this happens at overseas, with 1 complain, we can just make the lecturers balik kampung tanam padi..
